Melaka is located at the center of the Malay Archipelago and for centuries have been at the heart of many travel routes. Melaka is thus accessible by a variety of modes of travel. Visitors from Asean are exempt from visa and are given an automatic 2 week visa on entering Malaysia .


:: FROM SINGAPORE ::

Land
Private Vehicle

The North–South highway runs the length of the west coast of Penisular Malaysia and connects Singapore to Melaka. You can use the PIE and exit either at the Woodlands or Tuas checkpoint to access the North South Highway .

The journey to Melaka is about 300 km and will take approximately 3 hours . You should exit the higway at the Ayer Keroh interchange.

Coach

There are regular coach services between Singapore and Melaka.

These services are express services and total travel time will be about 4 hours. Most coaches depart from Golden Mile Complex in Beach Road.The Singapore – Malacca express company runs an hourly service out of Kallang Baru Bus Terminal. Tickets range from S$25-35 for one way travel.  

All express services arrive at the central bus terminal in Melaka. Taxi service is available to take you from this point to the medical center or your hotel. Taxi fare to the medical center is MYR 15 one way.

Air


Regular flights between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur are available every hour from Changi International Airport . There are normally more than 15 flights daily between the two cities and this includes a shuttle service which no pre booking is needed. Tickets are usually freely available except during holidays and festive periods. The shuttle ticket will cost you about S$150 one way and the routine pre-booked ticket is slightly more expensive.

The total flight time is about 50 minutes. On arrival in KLIA you can use the convenient airport taxi of limo service. Prices are fixed and coupons can be bought at the Airport Taxi counter at KLIA. It will cost you MYR 148 for a one way trip to Melaka.

We can also arrange a personalized limo pick up from KLIA if you require this. This pick up service costs MYR 300 for a return trip.

Air


There are 3 main methods to reach Melaka by air from Indonesia .

The only direct flights into Melaka are from Pekan Baru. These flights are available about 3-4 times a week .Riau Air and Berjaya Air operate this service currently. Fares start at MYR 200 one way and are available 5 days a week..Pelangi Air and Merpati Airlines also occasional offer this service.

You can also fly domestically to Batam and then use the sea ferry from Batam to Stulang Laut Ferry Terminal in Johor , Malaysia . Express buses and taxi services are available from here to Melaka.

The above two routes are more economical for Indonesians as they involve cheaper domestic flights and are exempt from exit levies.

Direct flights to Kuala Lumpur are available from various destinations in Indonesia . Air Asia offers economical rates for flights to Kuala Lumpur from Bali, Balikpapan , Batam, Bandung , Jakarta , Medan , Padang , Pekanbaru, Solo and Surabaya .

Sea


Regular direct ferry service is available between Dumai Indonesia and Melaka. Further services to Pekan Baru, Bengkalis and Jambi are also available.

Ferries arrive at the Melaka River port terminal which is situated within walking distance of the medical center. Prices are quite reasonable , starting at MYR 80 for a one way trip to Dumai.
